Did you know: three homes in this neighborhood were burglarized just in the past month? The police are at wit’s end attempting to figure out who these burglars might be. I have my own suspicions myself. A few of us were talking, and we were trying to think of what to do in order to prevent any more of these crimes from occurring. One of my next-door neighbors said she didn’t think there WAS anything else to do. She has really secure locks and bolts on both of her doors and on all of her windows. Unless these people are so desperate that they’ll actually have the guts to throw a rock through the window, she really believes that her home is immune. Dawn, from the next street over, was one of the burglary victims. She’s buying a brand-new home security system for her place over on Chrismore. It’ll cost her an arm and a leg, but she feels certain they’ve got to do something. I wonder if Carl and I should get something like that. We have good locks, too, and we leave lights on and the radio going, but I don’t really think that fools people anymore the way it used to. Dawn gave me the name of this store we can visit to look at different security products. I’ve been there before, but it was to get a television set. These systems come equipped with really loud alarms, that connect to police car radios. You’d have to be lightning fast to get away if one of those things goes off! It might just be worth the price.
